On the Farm- August 30

The sky was bright blue and cloudless on Monday. The moisture, humidity that seemed to build on Saturday, then break into rain all of Sunday, passed along with our tension and worry. The morning sun hit saturated ground and drew vapor from the earth- cycling water back into the sky.

The farm fared well in the storm. We received more rain then we needed, but avoided flooding in the field. Wind only tore down a few small branches and seemed to leave our crops upright and intact. The earth is still soaked, squishing beneath my feet in places, but our sandy, well-drained soil is earning its praise.

Thanks to everyone who expressed concern and wrote to check in on the farm.
